2023 21 days of prayer: day 5

The words of the LORD are pure words,

like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,

purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6 ESV)

As we pray and fast, we do so with the Word of God in our view at all times. We’re not trying to connect with some inner voice or get in touch with some deeper part of ourselves. We’re listening to God.

His words are pure words. They are real words that penetrate us to our souls. As we read through the Bible reading plan (at this link or the same info is on the card you received Sunday), we’re taking ancient wisdom written for us thousands of years later and asking the Lord to open our eyes to it. We can’t live without it!
