Thanks for signing up for a 1-hour prayer block!
Whether at home or at church, spending this time before the Lord on behalf of you and your church will be worth it.
There are no rules on how you spend the time. You don’t have to talk for an hour, and you don’t have to shift into any sort of spiritual mode that seems far off to your understanding. It may be helpful to begin with worship music to set your heart toward God. If you don’t know how you’ll spend the hour, we recommend one or more of these approaches.
1. Begin with the Bible and then pray through this special Arrowhead Prayer Guide. Read something fairly short in Scripture and then proceed to the guide. A more general form of this document is always available on our site and you can always pray any part of it anytime, though it is written as a daily guide. This one is expanded even further with very specific requests. Don’t feel the pressure to hurry through any day, but pray at whatever pace you’d like.
2. Worship-based prayer. Just listen to music and respond to what it says in prayer. Sing along if you’d like. You can use your own favorite songs or use this prayer list and guide. Begin by reading Psalm 95, 96, or 150.
Listen to this Arrowhead-curated playlist on Apple Music or Spotify
Praise the Lord for who He is and all He’s done. Listen to Is He Worthy by Shane & Shane or Revelation Song by Kari Jobe.
Confess your sin and need for Him. Listen to How I Need You by Highlands Worship.
Thank God for forgiveness. Listen to His Mercy is More by Matt Boswell and Thank You Jesus by Charity Gayle.
Pray for our mission to bring glory to Jesus. Listen to A Thousand Hallelujahs by Brooke Ligertwood and Firm Foundation by Cody Carnes.
3. Pray Paul’s prayers for those you love and for our church.
Use this article as your guide. Turn to these prayers in the Bible and expand your thoughts and words further. You may want to read the article before your prayer time and be prepared. Pray these truths for those you love and for our pastors and church partners.
4. Write prayers for yourself, your loved ones, and your church.
Use a journal and write out full thoughts or shorthand notes. Make a gratitude list and thank the Lord for all He’s given you.
Conclude your prayer time with asking the Lord to work in the church-wide prayer points on the 21 days of prayer site for our Morristown and Greeneville congregations and our church as a whole.
This is a year where our sacrifice will be tested. The Lord has grown our congregation in 2022 and we need more of us to sacrifice our time and passion to making disciples in the next generation. Some key decisions need to be made early this year and we need his guidance.
Pray for the Lord to lead as we plant at least a third Arrowhead congregation in 2023! Ask Him to bring all the right people on board for another healthy gospel-driven church in East Tennessee.
